                                                                                                     Founder  Rev. Charles L. Stokes and his beloved wife, Mrs. Gwinne Dean Stokes   

In honor of the tenacious ministry on his life, this ministry is named in the remembrance of the Late Rev. Charles L. Stokes who was the Pastor and Founder of Grace Covenant Baptist Church. Being a visionary and trailblazer for helping the needy, he passed his mantel to Rev. Thomas as he placed him as his successor to pastor Grace Covenant Baptist Church. The heart to feed and take care of God's people was placed in the heart of Pastor Vincent Thomas.         

This is the church that literally made a call through the television media for homeless to be housed in the church during frigid cold weather. However, when the cold snap ended, no one who wanted housing was placed back on the street until they had a home of their own. Pastor Stokes was one of the founders of the Vine City Ministries and one of the founders of the Concerned Black Clergy. He was a visionary for people regardless of race or denominational background.
